Who is CVC Capital?
Irelia Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) is a prominent equity investment firm headquartered in Luxembourg. The company aims to invest in global sports and has invested in a number of sports including football, Formula 1 and rugby. Their latest addition is cricket where they have acquired the IPL franchise based in Ahmedabad.
Reports say that CVC Capitals has tried in the past to form a solid business model with Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals; however, the talks were not fruitful and thus failed to enter Indian Premier League (IPL) market.

Head Coach – Ashish Nehra
The new Ahmedabad-based IPL team has nailed itself in the position of former Indian coach Ashish Nehra as the team’s head coach. Nehra will be responsible overall for the team.
The former India pacer was approached by several IPL franchises for the role of bowling coach and instructor, however, he denied all deals as he always wanted to build a team from scratch.
Now, at IPL 2022, Ashish Nehra has been appointed head coach of the Ahmedabad-based IPL team and will be responsible for building the team at the mega auction. Furthermore, he will also be involved in strategy building and team formation.
Ashish Nehra, 42, was earlier part of the coaching group at the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2019. In the past two seasons, Packer has refrained from only a coaching role.
Captain Ahmedabad IPL
After completing the main support team, Ahmedabad engaged in Baroda multi-level Hardik Pandya as a side lead for a whopping 15 crore Indian rupees.

The all-rounder has been released by Mumbai Indians (MI) due to its poor showing in the last two seasons of IPL.
